Are Muslims “hard” to reach? Most Christians tend to think Muslims are diametrically opposed to the Gospel. They cite immense cultural barriers, anti-Christian beliefs and violent behavior that make Muslims the most difficult group of people to reach with the Good News of Jesus.
I have been serving as the president of Crescent Project ( www.crescentproject.org) for more than 20 years. I continually hear men and women who follow Jesus make such a depressing statement.
Historically, that may have been true. But God is doing a new thing among Muslims! God is using the technology explosion, global economy and even wars to bring His people into contact with Muslims.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19).
This week a group of Muslim families were baptised together secretly in a Muslim country. In the last 20 years, many have come to faith in Christ. The numbers are growing and my prayer that the Gospel will grow and impact Muslim communities for change. Change that blesses and transforms the social structure and makeup.
I believe God is calling us to watch for the “new thing” He is doing among Muslims. If we are not looking for it – if we continue to sit on our hands, recalling the former things – will we even perceive it? Will we miss out on His fresh work?
A study conducted by my mentor and friend Dr. Dudley Woodbury reveals what my experience at Crescent Project has proven true:
Muslims are turning to Jesus because Christians are living out their faith.
I like, to sum up, the top 3 Reasons Muslims Convert to Christianity in this way:
1. They witness an authentic Christian witness
2. The power of God in answered prayers, healing, visions and dreams
3. The spiritual truths that come alive in the Bible.
I always ask for a watchful heart for the “new thing” God is doing. And I pray this site will provide you with tools so you can live for Christ among the Muslims in your community.
